Sheaf for Distance World Championship is a satircal commentary on how easy it is to invent a World Championship.  It is up to you to draw the conclusion of whether I am poking fun at any particular Championship that may or may not fall on the same day as the Celtic Highland Games of the Quad Cities.

As for sheaf for distance, I do not take credit for others.  Thom Van Vleck found the satircal history of the Sheaf for Distance amusing and passed along (not asking for credit) that he actually did it in a competition and counted the roll!

Thus, the first documented sheaf for distance in competition was in 2001 at Kirksville, MO.  I am sure there has been others before and after that date who have throwing Sheaf for distance since it is kind of a spontaneous thing to do.  But until I am informed otherwise, I dub Kirksville, MO as the birthplace of this event.
