Games Specific Information
- Registerd Throwers On the day of the Games
Registered athletes should enter the fairgrounds using the Clark Street Gate, on the west side of the fairgrounds. This will give you parking within the fairgrounds which is a little closer than general admissions parking. There will be people to check your name on the athletes list at this gate. At that point you will have to pay admissions for any non-athletes. You may want to drop you athletic equipment here before parking to spare the carrying of the equipment from your car. Coolers are forbidden for the general public. You are not and thus you can bring in your personal cooler - Please no glass containers. Check in at the athletic tent, pickup t-shirt and sign the wavior (again).
- Walkon Throwers On the day of the Games, Walk on athletes will have to use general admissions parking and pay general admissions of $8 which will be considered you late registration fee. You should be able to get a cooler through general admissions by stating that you are an athlete. These are volunteers and some may have not been instructed to let you in with the cooler. Thus, be nice and ask them to radio athletics or Mark McVey and we will get you & your cooler in. Check in at the athletic tent, pay your registration fee, sign the wavior and pickup your t-shirt.
- The Ceilidh party which starts at 6:00 and is now a separate admissions fee. Sorry, I tried to get that included but was not able. However, all other performers including pipers also have to pay!
- Wrist bands will be needed to get back in the fairgrounds if you leave during the day.
- McDonalds is across the street but is a real bear to get to once inside the fairgrounds. It is very unlikely that I will be able to get the gate closest to McDonalds open. However, I will try. Thus, if you have not eaten breakfast before entering the grounds, you may want to stop there first.
- There are two banks with ATMs across the street located in the strip mall parking lot.
- No Irish throws this year. It was an interesting experiment that did not work well. If they come back, they will come back as a challenge event.
- Palmer College of Chiropractic is expected back to help the aches and pains.
- Massage therapist or two.
- T-shirt and Lunch comes with registration.
- I am working on getting bagels or donuts for the morning. Stay tuned ....
- Gatorade and additional water will be in 5 gallon igloo coolers so bring an empty bottle or use a water bottle once emptied for Gatorade.
- Our Ceilidh! will be featuring Searson, a Candian band that played at QC games two years ago. The Ceilidh runs from 6:00 to midnight. The closest all you can eat places if you want to catch a bite before the party.
